June 17 Copperheads 12 Xenia 2

The Southern Ohio Copperheads rebounded from the opening day loss tonight to the tune of a 12-2 victory over the Xenia Scouts. Southern Ohio starter Andrew Waszak went four strong innings giving up just two hits and one run. The Copperheads’ bats also came alive generating 12 runs on 12 hits. Ohio University’s Seth Streich led the Snakes with two doubles in the gap that plated four runs.

The Copperheads move to 1-1 and now come home for five games in three days. Southern Ohio will face Delaware tomorrow at 7:30 pm, Hamilton for a doubleheader on Saturday at 5:30, and Grand Lake for a doubleheader on Sunday. Each game will take place at Bob Wren Stadium in Athens, OH.
